Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities are often disproportionately affected by the negative consequences of AI. Through a combination of research, personal anecdotes, and examples, I will demonstrate that AI has the potential to improve the lives of BIPOC individuals, but also highlight the proactive steps we must take as a community to ensure that these systems are fair, unbiased, and inclusive. I will also invite the audience to co-architect solutions.
