To monitor traffic in traditional database implementation, we typically install agent in the database server. It collects the information and pass it to Guardium for analysis. But now a days customers are selecting Managed Database services or containerized option where we don’t have or limited access to install any agent. In these scenarios we can opt for External S-TAP component. We need to place it in between database client and cloud database. It will process all the requests coming to the database server and share with Guardium for analysis. Since External S-TAP is packaged as Docker image, it can be deployed on EKS, ECS or OpenShift.
